Welcome to Kingsport

Jul 18, 2023

What a weekend we had in Kingsport at Warpath Lanes.
On Saturday, we saw 72 entries come compete on the Boardwalk pattern and it certainly played easier than most Bracket Challenge patterns. We were able to pay 18 spots, with the 19th spot getting a free entry into Sunday’s scratch event.

The field was led by Josh Lewis who ended the day with a natural 300 game 4 and the front 7 of game 5 before leaving a 10 pin which ended with his second 300 of the day. He beat 2nd place, Jeremy Adams, by 25 pins. Lewis averaged 263 for 5, while Adams averaged a measly 258 :-).

On Sunday we had 54 bowlers come back out and try their hand for a banner and Bowlifi jersey.

The field was led by Mike Ward until game 5, where Josh Lewis circled him with a game of 235 to Mike’s 181. We cut to the top 11, and the score to cash was 997.

In the first round of bracket match play:
Brian Swift defeated Jared Vermillion, Michael Rachal def Trent Wolfe, and Ethan Gibbons def Josh Wilson.
In the round of 8, Josh Lewis def Brian Swift, Oliver Lawson took down Jason Conner, Michael Rachal escaped Mike Ward, and Zack McSwain took care of Ethan Gibbons.
Our final four had Josh Lewis defeating Oliver Lawson 232-215 and Rachal defeating McSwain 247-154.
In the finals, we were guaranteed a repeat champion, and it was Michael Rachal making his third trip to the Bowlifi Winner’s Circle with a 245-147 score over Lewis.

Thanks to everyone who came out this past weekend! Our next event is the $5K Summer Clash at Western Avenue in Knoxville, TN on July 29th.
