The Last of Its Kind

Nov 6, 2023

We have had multiple 3 tournament weekends the last few seasons, but this is the last one on our schedule…at least through 2024 🙂

We started our first MAJOR weekend with our typical no tap in which Josh Lewis took the W with a 5 game total of 1368 (250-261-300-279-278), while Brian Mueller was last to cash with an 1103 (217-246-210-210-220).

On Saturday, there was a lot of confusion on our start time, so we had several show up right on time, but we ended with a field of 41 for our Bracket Challenge Open.

Our original plan was to cut to the top 32 for a single game double elimination bracket, but in order to save some lineage, the bowlers voted to reduce the cut to the top 16, and pay 12 spots (greater than 1 in 4 with only 41 entries). Our leader was Brian Locke with a 1079, while Ricky Marshall was the cut (16th) at 932.

In the double elimination bracket, it not only made for a long day, and lots of great matches, but the eventual Champion came out of the losers bracket and won twice to take home the victory! It was Brian Locke’s 2nd Bracket Challenge title and first major win.

We concluded the day with a dinner at Dead End BBQ. We invited our multi-time Champions, top 5 in points for both tours, perfect attendance, and sponsors! It was a fun time had by those in attendance.
