Senior / Ladies Event

Mar 27, 2023

For our first Senior / Ladies only event, we were beyond pleased with the support. We had 36 bowlers compete on the 2023 Don Johnson pattern. It proved to be a typical Bracket Challenge spare fest as we only had 3 bowlers in the positive after 5 games of qualifying.

Our leader was Kennie Lane at +73 (214.6 average) while our cut (9th) was Ben Snyder at -67.

In the first round of the bracket play, Charlie Tomey def Ben Snyder by 4 (167 to 163).

We moved on to the round of 8, which saw:
Tomey def Kennie Lane 171-139
Greg McMahan def Joe Scarborough 210-193
Ken Shealy def Justin Lewis 235-209
Ricky Galpal def Brian Mueller 216-178

Our final four paired good friends Greg McMahan against Charlie Tomey and Ken Shealy against Rick Galpal. Both proved great matches and came down to the tenth frame, in which ultimately McMahan def Tomey (186-181) and Shealy def Galpal (211-210).

In a spare fest of a Championship match, Shealy got past McMahan to the tune of 204-193, to earn his 2nd Bracket Challenge title!

UPCOMING SCHEDULE:
Carolinas tour: April 15 and 16 at Sky Lanes in Asheville, NC
Tennessee tour: April 22 and 23 at Western Ave in Knoxville, TN
Senior / Ladies: June 17 at Warpath Lanes in Kingsport, TN
