Season 8 Episode 3

Mar 4, 2024

So our weekend in Spartanburg started out with a bang as we had 6 300s shot game 1 of our Saturday no tap. We knew immediately the scoring pace would be pretty high compared to a typical Bracket Challenge. After all 82 bowlers finished their 5 games, we totaled 16 perfect games.

Our winner was Zack McSwain shooting 1 of those 300s and finished with a score of 1389 (277.8 average) for his 5. For our FREE entry spot, Zim Moton and Trent Wolfe tied at 1129 and both got $50 off their entry on Sunday,

82 entries was our LARGEST No tap crowd in Bracket Challenge history! You all made it memorable for sure.

On Sunday, we weren’t sure what to expect from the crowd, but 65 bowlers came back to try their hand on the PBA 38′ Marshall Holman pattern. While this pattern played fairly easy by our standards, we only had 5 games of 250 or better shot.

We were able to cut to 16 and pay 16 spots. Our top 8 seeds received a bye into match play, while seed 9-16 had to go right in and start competing again.

We saw some good matches as several went into the 10th frame and we have one 9th/10th frame roll off. In the end, Alex Glinski from Greensboro def Dave Bowers from Knoxville for his first Bracket Challenge title!

Thank you to everyone who made this weekend memorable as it was one of our largest combined weekends in several seasons.
