MAW Presentation // Blue Coast Burrito Playoffs

Nov 6, 2023

We started our day a few hundred dollars short of $2000 in an effort to donate to the Make-A-Wish East Tennessee chapter. In one of the coolest moments, I’ve experienced, I got the microphone and started almost an auction and we raised over $400 just Sunday, and were able to donate $2,107 to MAW.

In order to bowl, you had to bowl a minimum of 3 scratch stops in either our Tennessee or Carolinas tour. We had 79 bowlers eligible, and 32 showed up for a chance at the title of Player of the Year!

The pattern was not released until Sunday morning, and it was a 43′ flat pattern that made for no angles and great spare shooting #StrikinAintEasy. Neal Nakandakare led qualifying with a 907 for 4 games.

Each round of the bracket provided its own challenges as the first three rounds were best 2 out of 3 matches, and only 4 of the 15 matches went the distance.

It was the same format for the top 16 and remaining 8. After the dust settled, our semi-finals saw Mark Dillard vs. Brian Locke and David Christopher taking on Michael Painter. A true Tennessee vs Carolinas battle – or battle of the ages (Seniors vs. Kids)

In the end, Mark Dillard from Nashville, TN was crowned our 2023 Player of the Year!

As we constantly say, we can’t thank everyone enough for your support and sacrifice month in and month out for our tournament series!

See everyone in December at Sky Lanes, as we host our UltraStar BIG Money Saturday event and our Tournament of Champions…before we start back over in January.
