Carolinas Bowling in January

We started our 7th season at Northside Lanes in Winston-Salem, NC.

On Saturday, Jan 14, we had 37 entries tackle our Bracket Challenge Prison pattern. After 5 games were over, Brian White took the win (and the only 300 game of the day) with a score of 1202 (240.4 average). With Buck Hall, score of 1078 (215.6 average) got the advertised FREE entry into Sunday’s tournament.

On Sunday, 44 bowlers showed up for 39’ of our Prison pattern again.

This time, Zack McSwain took the lead into the bracket finals with a 5 game score of 1051 (210.2 average) while our cut was senior Richard Beeson at 961 (192.2 average). Our top senior out of cash was Alvin Long, finishing 14th with a 5 game score of 949 (189.8 average).

In the bracket finals, our top 5 seeds (McSwain, Alex Glinski, Chris Bald, Bobby Hogan, and Brian Locke got a one round bye. In the opening round of match play, Brad Richardson (8th) defeated Chris Miller (9th) 221-211. In the other first round matches #7 Justin Jenkins def #10 Jeremy Johnson 192-147 and #6 Ryan Lanes defeated #11 Richard Beeson 165-161.

In the round of 8, our top seed Zack McSwain defeated Brad Richardson 215-210, Brian Locke (#5) defeated Bobby Hogan (#4) 226-171, Alex Glinkski (#2) def Justin Jenkins 253-212, and Chris Bald (#3) defeated Ryan Lane 231-202.

The semifinals round Zack McSwain lost to Brian Locke 221-152 an Alex Glinkski lost to Chris Bald 226-187.

Our Bowlifi finals put Chris Bald against Brian Locke, both from the Raleigh area. Bald defeated Locke 186-175 for the $1000 top prize thanks to Parks Buick GMC in Kernersville.

Our next Carolinas stop is February 11th and 12th at Paradise Lanes in Spartanburg, SC.
