Monthly Tournaments
Scratch Tournament
Our Scratch Tournament is The Bracket Challenge main event!
We have the region’s best amateur bowlers, come out and try their hand in a competitive, yet relaxing tournament.
Winner gets a cash a prize, a champions banner, and a discounted entry into our annual Tournament of Champions event.
Bowl 5 games of scratch bowling and then cut the field for bracket style match play finals.
No Tap Tournament – only available in Tennessee
Our No Tap Tournament is a chance for those who don’t feel ready for a Scratch Tournament challenge, but want to try your hand on a sports / PBA pattern.
Major Tournaments
10th Anniversary Celebration
April 18th and 19th at Paradise Lanes in Spartanburg, SC. Qualifying will be 7 games held on Saturday, the 18th. The finals (top 16) will be on Sunday, the 19th. We will pay 1 in 4 entries, but only the top 16 come back on Sunday.
$5K Summer Clash
Patterns: Saturday will be dual pattern during all 9 games; Sunday will be a completely different 3rd pattern.
Saturday, August 8th: Bowl 6 games, cut to cashers (1 in 4 entries); Cashers advance to roll 3 more games on the burn with carryover.
Sunday, August 9th: Top 8, based on the previous days’ 9 game totals, advance to a 3 game guarantee bracket style finals
UltraStar Tournament of Champions
November 7th and 8th at UltraStar Multi-tainment Center in Cherokee, NC. The 7th will be a No Tap event on the PBA Don Johnson pattern. The TOC event will be on the 8th on the same pattern.Â
Blue Coast Burrito Playoffs
November 21st – 22nd at Warpath Lanes in Kingsport, TN. The format is TBD.

Serving Our Bowling Community Since 2016
The Bracket Challenge started in 2016, out of Tarheel Lanes in Hendersonville, NC. After a few failures, questionable decisions, and some great ideas, we now run one of the most successful and fun weekend tournaments for the bowling community in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia.
How We Do Things
We will run three series in 2026 – one in the Carolinas, one in Tennessee, and one in Virginia. Only in Tennessee will we hold our monthly 9-pin no-tap events. Both the Carolinas and Virginia tours will only host a scratch event each month.
Every entry into the monthly scratch tournament earns Player of the Year points. Both events – each weekend, each month – is run on the same sports / Kegel / PBA pattern that the directors decide on. Both winners earn a berth into our year end Tournament of Champions event.
